Which will it be??

With only 50 days left on the baby countdown (and many of those being work days) I have been frantically trying to get things organized so we are ready for baby #2. This has been the only time I have wavered on my decision to find out the gender. Unfortunately for Jon, I didn't waver long. I am still so excited to find out the big news in the delivery room! However, I am not a fan of gender neutral clothes. When we come home I want anyone that may see him/her to be thinking 'oh what an adorable little boy' or 'oh what an adorable little girl', not 'hmm cute baby but is it a girl or a boy?' So in order to avoid this I got 2 new outfits! Very excited to find out which one will get used!

Skiing!

Adam is too young to actually go skiing, but we got hand-me down skis from a co-worker so we decided to try them out. I am typically not an advocate for using a leash on your children...however, Guinness' leash did the trick to keep him from getting out of control. Jon rigged him up with the leash and put Adam into the boots/skis. Our street is still snow/ice covered so Jon took him down a couple times on the street. He seemed to really like it!
Just a short little video, learning on our icy street :)

Then with the weather so nice and the snow rapidly disappearing this week we figured we better make a snowman before we lose our opportunity.
Here is Adam with his snowman. He loves to pat the snow into place, but unfortunately he can't do anything with his mittens on. So I'm sure his hands were cold which is why he doesn't look to happy about his snowman :)

Christmas (Part III)

Finally, the last part of our Christmas. Santa came to our house last night and brought Adam lots of very useful items...socks, flashcards, and utensils. Maybe when Adam gets older, Santa will bring him more 'fun' presents. But for now I think Santa just wanted to help us out and bring some useful things, since Adam got some many great presents already. We did get to wear our new matching Christmas pajamas and Jon made homemade donuts as he always does Christmas morning. I am sad that this brings to a close our Christmas festivities, especially since the Leibman family Christmas is just about to begin and we will be missing out on all the fun. However, I know that the sacrifice this year will make next year that much better when we have two little ones to share in the fun.
Jon's homemade Christmas donuts...he always goes above and beyond (both frostings are homemade as well...and awesome!)
Adam playing with all his new toys
Our matching Christmas pajamas...even Guinness has a pair :)

Christmas (Part II)

Later that night, we headed over to Sandy's house to celebrate with Jon's Dad (Papa ET), Sandy and two of her kids, Chris and Courtney. This has become somewhat of a tradition for us, since we are almost always home in CO for Christmas Eve, it is nice to know that even when we are far away from most of our family we still have a small little piece here to celebrate with. It was a great evening with a delicious meal as always, and thankfully Adam took a great nap (after our snafu with letting him open presents right before nap time) and was especially charming/adorable. Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve
Adam was all about saying 'Cheese'
Parking all his cars in the 'garage'
 His new remote control car!
 Snuggling with Papa ET
Finally starting to get tired (it was already like 8:30)
Sandy with Chris and Courtney

Christmas (Part I)

Here are some pictures from the first part of our Christmas. We opened up all the presents from family members, grandparents, etc. We will normally do this on Christmas Eve, however, we were going over to Papa Et and Sandy's house so we opened them a little early before nap time (not our best move, as it was then impossible to pry Adam away from all his new toys to eat lunch and take a nap :)
He loves his new puppy towel!
Learning how to take wrapping paper off
In awe of Lightning and Mater
New race track for all the cars Grandma and Grandpa got him
Trying out all the different sounds his new puzzle makes
Dancing to his new recordable book
 I don't know Lulu, it's a little small :)
A much better fit!

Our Winter Break Project

Our project over Winter Break was to transition Adam into his new big boy bed/room, in anticipation of our new little ones arrival! My parents were out in October and helped paint and set everything up, but we wanted to wait until we had a good chunk of time to dedicate to the big switch. Since we are not traveling this Christmas :( and we were going to be home for naps and bedtime for two solid weeks, we decided this would be the perfect opportunity, lots of consistency and plenty of down time for Mom and Dad (for naps) in case it didn't go well.
Reading stories with Daddy
And just before we said goodnight and turned out the lights.

I must say it was all at once adorable and heartbreaking to see our little baby in this giant bed looking so tiny and so grown up all at once. But we snapped one last picture, turned out the lights and shut his door and that was the last we heard of him til morning! He talked to himself for awhile, like he normally does, but then was quiet. Every time we checked on him he was sleeping soundly and he stayed that way until the morning. We first heard him at about 7:15 (which is amazing considering he gets up for school at 6:30)!
We are now one week into the big switch and we've had some small hiccups with naptime and teething, but otherwise he has done great. We are so proud of our big boy!

Santa!

We went and visited Santa today at Streets of Southglenn in Littleton. I love that place...Santa was totally free and you get to take your own pictures! We also got there right when Santa arrived at 12:00 and he sang a song and danced with all the kids before he sat down, definitely went above and beyond. Adam once again did a great job...no big smiles, but there were no tears either. Clearly a huge success!

Sledding!

Winter has officially come to Colorado! It has snowed multiple times over the last week and the temperatures have been frigid. As soon as we started getting some accumulating snow, Jon ran out and got Adam his first sled! We got all bundled up on Saturday morning and walked to a little hill just up the street from our house. It is hardly a sledding hill, but it was good enough for Adam. He wasn't crazy about the snow in his face and we were only able to stay out for about 20 minutes, but we still had a good time :)
somewhat unsure of this whole sledding thing
 cold, snowy and windy
 terrified of crashing
 likes this way much better

Let the season begin!

We just started pulling out our Christmas decorations this past weekend. Here is the newest addition to our collection. As you can see, Adam loves it, especially when it squeaks while closing and he thinks it is the 'beep beep' of a car :)

Christmas Lighting

We attempted to take part in the Santa parade and Christmas lighting festivities in Old Town Littleton the day after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately it got a little too cold and windy and Adam was quite uncooperative :( However, here are a few pictures of all the people with which we were planning on spending the evening.

DC Wedding

We didn't bring our camera to the wedding for some reason but here is a pic of my two favorite men and one of the whole family. It was such a beautiful day for a wedding, I'm sad we didn't get more pictures :/

Just one more...

Happy Halloween!

Our very serious cow at Aspen Grove's Trick or Treat Street.
 Loving the fire engine!
 Our little cow fireman :)
Here he is with our amazing pumpkins!
Unfortunately we can't ever get him to sit still for a good picture :)

One year later

I'm slightly embarrassed that this still fits (I blame myself and my short stature)...but he still is a darn cute monkey!

My final race

I know I said the same thing in September after a 5 mile race I did...but this time I really mean it...this was my last race until baby #2 arrives. I don't want to be this woman in fact, that sounds fairly terrible. But at 23 weeks, 6 miles was doable. So this past Sunday I ran the Littleton Stride 10K, a race to benefit Littleton Public Schools. I felt great and was able to run a lot more than I anticipated. My pace was very slow and I had to walk up the hills, but otherwise it was a great day to be out running and an especially great end to the 'race' season.
Here were some of my fellow runners, The Leclaires, The Smith-Krause Clan, and Abby and Ethan (two new teachers in the LA dept. at Arapahoe) (not pictured: Jeff Krause-thank you for taking on the sherpa/cheering duties...Jon-thank you for caring for our child and playing video games so I could run without the stroller)

Our Big Helper

Adam has found a new way to Guinness' heart...
Thank you Holmans for the idea!
He is always so pleased with himself afterwards :)

Big Boy Room

Of course it wasn't all fun and games with Grandma and Grandpa, my mom was also hard at work putting Adam's new room together. She is the master painter in our family so she offered to help paint Adam's new room! We were going with a transportation theme thanks to Jon's sister, Sarah, making us the coolest paintings for his wall.
So while Adam napped, my mom got busy and painted his new room (was formally the office/guest bedroom). I think it turned out amazing! I am so excited for Adam to start using it, but for now it will just look cool, because Jon and I are not ready for him to be unconfined while sleeping :) Here are some pics of the finished product!

So excited to jump on his new bed!

Pumpkin Patch!

We just had an incredible week long vacation with Grandma and Grandpa. Adam was spoiled of course and got to stay home all week. He went to The Children's Museum, the park, Starbucks/Safeway, and had endless entertainment. He of course is going through withdrawal, now that they are gone and walks around with his hands up saying, "Papa?"  Here are the pictures we took at the pumpkin patch. Of course Adam was in heaven, being able to wander around, play in the dirt and look at animals.
Adam is just learning to say 'cheese' into the camera...hence the goofy expression :)
A pumpkin just his size...well a little too big, he promptly dropped it...
 This one was much better.
Kristin and Baby Sam came along for the fun as well...he was not so sure about all these pumpkins, but his jammies fit right it!
There's a smile! (This was Kristin's first trip to a pumpkin patch!!)
Always so happy with grandma and grandpa.
Adam was not so inclined to sit still for the pictures.
