Samuel 'Wolfie' Leclaire

I thought I would take a break from Adam pics and introduce his newest friend. Kristin and Jason's baby was born on March 16th, they officially named his Samuel Jerry Leclaire, however,  Samuel/Sam/Wolfie/Wolfman are just a few of his current names. He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and has had to endure more in his first week and a half of life then most of us do in a lifetime. Kristin and Jason are doing an amazing job thus far and have kept a great blog to keep us all informed of Wolfie's progress. Jon and I got to stop by the hospital yesterday and spend a little time with the new parents and the little man so we have a few pictures to share. However, check out their blog because they have way more info and way better pictures.
Here he is just 9 days old and 4 days after surgery, extubated, but still needing some help from the CPAP machine.
All 7 pounds of him wrapped up like a burrito :) (my favorite baby look)
Can you find Sam?

Frankenstein

This is Adam's latest trick...he's not too coordinated yet, and he falls a lot, but he loves his new form of motion.

Spring Break-Part I

We have been having a blast in Palm Springs. We arrived late (very late) Friday night, but then got to enjoy all day Saturday and Sunday with Aunt Angie and cousins Emory and Miles. Adam got to spend some quality time with his cousins and although he can't 'play' yet (up to Miles' standards) I think Miles is happy to finally have a Thurmond cousin that shares his love of cars. This is the only picture so far (thanks to Angie) but we will post more once we are home.

Happy Birthday!!

It's hard to believe we have gone from this...
to this...
Our little boy is now taking some steps, climbing the stairs, clapping, saying dog, dada, mama, bye, he gives kisses and smiles at everyone he sees. He loves eating meat and cheese and doesn't even mind some spice. He loves his tiger blanket and chewing on socks. He puts himself to bed by talking/singing and he wakes up the same way. He loves reading books and playing with his buckets. He loves bath time but still hates being changed. He drinks out of a sippy cup now and has 6 teeth. He is very independent and likes doing things on his own. He is also very determined and doesn't give up without a fight. Our lives changed a lot a year ago...and we wouldn't have it any other way.
