Grandma Time

My mom was visiting for the past week so once again Adam was spoiled rotten and so were we :) Adam got to stay home with Grandma while Jon and I and our friends Anne and Jeff took a weekend trip to Steamboat. It was so great to get away for a weekend and know that Adam was in good hands.

And here we are post half marathon (our actual reason for going to Steamboat). I finished in 1:50 which is my PR by about 3 minutes!

The Calm Before the Storm

Our summer has been very busy so far and I have multiple posts with all the fun stuff that we have done so far, however, for now...here is how our mornings start :)

Colorado Family

A few years ago Jon and I had numerous serious (which Jon rarely has :) conversations about staying in Colorado or moving closer to family. We both love our families dearly and we were nervous about starting a family so far from our parents, siblings, and our future children's cousins. We went back and forth about the logistics, location, jobs, pros, cons...but we finally decided that although we loved our family, they were all still just a flight away and that we would stay in Colorado. 

Fast forward to now...we have been blessed with the greatest friends, people who support us, care about us, people we can call in an emergency, people we can share meals with, and holidays...they have become our Colorado Family.

Now Jenny's 2nd visit at 13 months...he can't get enough.

Adam loved spending some quality time with his aunt Jenny, especially since it meant a 4 day weekend, lots of attention, and a new team to support (Go Cubbies!). 

Of course Jenny wanted to come visit her favorite sister and one of her favorite nephews, but the real reason she made the trip was to run a half marathon. Here we are smiling because the race is finally over. 

Birthday Party...finally

We didn't get a lot of great pictures from A-trains birthday party, but we had a great time and Adam loved having lots of people/kids over to play with. He didn't care for the cake, he poked it a few times and sort of tasted it, but really he just wanted to get down and play with all of his friends. Here are a few of the highlights.
